  • Conservation Magazine - Conservation Magazine provides nature and outdoor enthusiasts and hunters and anglers with the opportunity to discover and connect with the people and research that positively impact the conservation of Alberta’s fish, wildlife and habitat. In most cases, written stories are accompanied by photography, and bought as a package. Only digital photography is accepted. All photography must be taken in Alberta and of high-resolution. NEW! • Forest Magazine - Forest Magazine is a nationally distributed publication that explores issues pertaining to America’s system of national forests. We prefer high resolution color digital images and color transparencies. Negatives and glossy prints can be used, but are discouraged as final print quality suffers. All images should include a succinct explanation of the subject, information regarding photo credit and return information. Basic rate for photos is $25 to $35 per published image. We pay $100 for cover photos. Payment is made upon acceptance of the article or photos. NEW! (Hits: 22) | Detail | Visit Website
  • WaveLength Magazine - WaveLength Magazine promotes safe, ecologically sensitive paddling, guides readers to useful products and services, and explores marine issues. Authors receive $100 to $200 for their article, depending on published length. Payments for photos is $25 to $50 per photo, depending on size used, and $200 for cover shots (verticals). Payment is after publication (usually the end of the publication month). NEW! (Hits: 24) | Detail | Visit Website

Adirondack Life works with freelance photographers on every issue. Most images are stock; some are assigned. (Hits: 40) | Detail | Visit Website
  • Adventure Kayak magazine - Adventure Kayak celebrates all the adventures of kayak touring, from a tour through the local bay to an arctic expedition to all the diversity in between. We regularly run how-to features in a “starter kit” format covering specific topics in depth, such as kayak surfing, paddling with kids, or weekend trips. We are always in the market for articles that have depth, emotional impact and take-away value for the reader, complemented by striking photos. How-to features are broken up into text boxes and sidebars covering a variety of topics such as background, tips, gear, destinations, top 10 lists, etc. We pay contributors a pre-negotiated rate of up to $0.20 per word depending on length, content and quality. • AMC Outdoors magazine - AMC Outdoors relies on the talents of regional photographers throughout the Northeast for powerful images and we welcome submissions for review. For cover images, we look for action-oriented, exceptional images set in jaw-dropping landscapes. The images are specific to that issue’s theme and are often solicited from professional photographers. Lead-time for photo selection is generally three months before issue publication. Fees are negotiated on an individual basis; the general range is $50-$300. AMC Outdoors retains one-time publishing rights for each image used, unless an agreement exists for multiple uses. • National Geographic Adventure Magazine - Adventure covers the world of adventure, from exciting travel destinations and outdoor pursuits to accounts of cutting-edge expeditions and profiles of modern-day explorers. Adventure's primary focus is to enable its readers to travel to, experience, and understand the natural world for themselves. Adventure features are very narrow in scope; on occasion we cover whole states or countries. Subjects of particular interest to us are national and state parks, little-known or undiscovered places, diving, climbing, mountaineering, biking, backpacking, and kayaking trips. We want our articles to be tightly focused and to tell a story. Submissions should consist of a carefully selected sample of not more than 60 images that were done on assignment and demonstrate your ability to meet our requirements. We look for cover photo images that are in a vertical format, and will not be interrupted by the 2.5 inches (of an almost 11-inch height) taken up at the top by our title. We also have a short list of features on the cover, so a non-essential square of the photo will be written over. Payment: Inside photos: $25 - $75 or by the batch; Cover photos: $150.
