Hi I am an event and band photographer at night but stuck in a dead end day job, I really want to travel and work along the way, does anyone have any useful tips on how i can combine the two and make money from my photography? thanks

In high school I learned what I wanted to do with my life; photograph. Now I'm a college freshman and after taking three photography classes (still many more to come!), I finally figured out what kind I want to do; travel photography. How does one break into this type of photography? Can anyone direct me to some helpful websites and/or books that help me pursue this type of career?

I want to get into travel photography in particular and want to know want to know wether there is a particular make of camera that is good for these conditions. I want clear, high quality, images as i will be taking pictures of animals, places, people and colour will be the main theme. I want a well built, and professional quality camera which i can work with and learn about in more detail. Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc which one. I should think that it is the person behind the camera that matters the most. Thanks

I am extremely interested in pursuing a career in travel photography. I have numerous images from my previous travels and am curious how one gets into doing it for magazines or what not without a professional degree.. or what some publishers are that look at possible travel shots for book deals. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated! This would be a dream come true for me. Thanks so much most of my images are abstract photojournalistic in style. I have a fixation for hubs of communication and do not edit my images at all. I try and get the best images possible the first time, rather than go mediocre and fix it later. the stories I have are of from a person with limited budgets, but mainly just my random encounters while travelling. I was told that my narratives would be something people would want to read, but I also believe that pictures can tell more of a story than even words can. Is it worth exploring opportunities to make money of travel photography if one has a day time job which allows to travel in other countries

I was asked to photograph a 3-month trip around Asia and Africa and I have NO idea where to start researching information as far as travel photography. ANY advice would be great as far as equipment, guides, personal travel advice, etc.

I am retired and have searched the Wal-Mart stores for travel magazines to see what is available out there or what is needed. The only one, if available at all, is Southern Living. Nothing at the library either. I am not an amateur, schooling already completed. Love adventure and want to share what I find with others. Thanks.

I just had a recent photography enthusiasm and as a complete beginner, i started to acquire knowledge through internet and magazines but these aren't enough for me that is why i am looking for a group where i can learn more about photography that travels alot both locally and internationally as my theme of choice are mainly culture and places.

1)i like to buy 70-200mm f/ 4l is usm lens,is it gud enough or will sugest sum other lens for the same price category? 2)how to find the orginal canon lens? becoz here lot of shops provide various price ranges for the lens which i mentioned. Thanks 4 ur suggestions in advance.

im doing a project on travel photography and need some info explaining the importance of travel photography and why does the world/society need it. I've looked everywhere trying to find articles that explain these basic points but i have no luck. I'm getting my friend a subscription to a magazine for his birthday... he likes photography and is interested in traveling. I looked at the National Geographic Traveler, but I feel like it's a lot of articles and not as much about destinations... maybe? He already gets photography magazines, so I don't want something that is strictly photography. Ideas?

I'm getting a d90 pretty soon. I'm now confused whether to stick with the cheap package with only 18-55 lens, or just go all the way getting the 18-200... or getting only the body instead and getting the lens separately? which lens do you think will work best for travel photography? I really enjoy taking scenery and picture of people, friends and parties. would love to get panoramic photos once in a while. thanks for the answers! =)
