Which camera and lens for glamour photography?

I am looking to start glamour photography and I am looking to shoot mostly outdoors(beach, docks, etc) in Miami and also indoors. I am trying to figure out which way to go Canon(??) or Sony Alpha(a200,a350, a700). Also what is the best(bang for your buck) lens and what are the usual lens used in glamour photography?

Answer 1

The one I use the most is the 24-70 f/2.8 mm on both my Nikon's (D3 and D300). When you are talking about Bang for the Buck, it is usually something a first time buyer is looking for until they can learn how to use a SLR or DSLR. The $3,000 I spent for the D300 and 24-70 mm f/2.8 lens was done knowing what I wanted because I had a lot of experience shooting models with my Nikon D100 and 24-85 mm f/2.8~4 lens since 2002. Those who have been shooting Fashion have been doing it for many years and already have a good idea of what camera they will need, but usually already have a number of lenses they can use for a particular subject.

Answer 2

You need something sealed because of the weather and the sand. Look into the Nikon D3 or the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III. Check out the 85mm F/1.4 or F/1.8 and the 24-70mm F/2.8
