A commercial photography major will focus more on the aspects of being employed in the field, whereas a photography major would tend to focus on the fine art of photography. You would have a heavy focus on exhibiting your work and exploring your personal vision- as any artist would. However, I would hear what the specific schools you were considering had to say about their programs. Answer 3
The first year should be the same: Learning how to use various cameras, films, lighting and how to print the results perfectly.
