Non zoom lenses work the best for me. Answer 2
For head and shoulders, this lens:

For full body, this one:

I find it disturbing that you claim to be a professional, own a professional camera, but don't know how to choose a lens...
Never mind. I just saw that you asked this question a month ago:

I now understand that you have more money than sense. Answer 3
What sort of "professional" doesn't know the simple basics of his/her trade!! You ain't gonna earn much of a living! Best start looking for another job!
Which lens? First decide what effect you want in the portrait then choose the lens to produce that effect.
Here is a starting point. Won't make your photos look "professional" though - only your skill can do that.
Full frame camera, optimum portrait lens is the 85mm. Canon make one of the best - the EF 85mm f/1.2

Alternatively for the full body shots then a 50mm lens such as the EF 50mm f/1.2

Come on - spill the beans! You're not really a pro are you? You just bought a fancy camera didn't you? Answer 4
Usually, it's not the lens. It's the lighting and how you set your camera to it. If you can't take great looking shots with whatever lens you have now, you won't get great shots with an exceptional prime lens.
For portraits, around 50mm would do good. Others want to stay close and use a shorter lens (~35mm) while others want to stay far and use a longer lens (~80mm). Answer 5
First of all there's nothing wrong with asking and getting advice from others.
Second everyone needs to stop with the negative comments.
Use the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2
And for full body use EF 50mm f/1.2
Also try to adjust the lighting a little. << GO BACK to questions
