What kind of camera would be good for landscape photography?

I am interested in getting into some landscape photography. However I know nothing about it, cameras, or photography in general. So I need some help finding a camera that will let me get into this. I am trying to avoid breaking 250 dollars, so that would be my upper limit, and I would really like to be able to switch out the lenses also if that is possible. Any tips on this hobby would also be great. Thanks for helping

you need to buy a dslr camera which costs at least 500 dollars. start trying to save up on money. Nikon or Canon. your choice. I prefer Canon though. Most pros use canon cameras

Answer 2

You will need a camera with a wide angle lens. The cameras that can use interchangeable lenses cost about $700 at the entry level, plus the cost of a good lens like the 10-24 mm wide angle zoom For $250 you will have to buy a P&S camera which has a good wide angle focal length at the wide end of the optical zoom,. Look here for such cameras. http://www.dpreview.com/products/nikon/compacts/nikon_cps6200

With your budget you should be looking at a 35mm film camera and a 24mm wide angle lens for it. You'll also want a good tripod and a circular polarizer filter for landscape photography. You should be able to find a good Minolta X-700 and a 24mm lens for it on eBay for around $200.00. You'll need to increase your budget to add the tripod and circular polarizer though. Here are a couple of examples of what can be done using a Minolta X-700 with a 24mm wide angle lens with a circular polarizer and the camera tripod-mounted: http://www.flickr.com/photos/drifter45h/6309167043/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/drifter45h/3982233634/ This book will help you if you go for a 35mm film camera setup: 'Object & Image - An Introduction to Photography, Third Edition' by George M. Craven. Should be available on eBay or Amazon.

Any used SLR by NIkon or Cannon, I am not sure you can get one for only $250 but this are great cameras. Buy just the body and one fixed wide lens at about 24mm that will get you started and later when you save some money you can bay more lenses. Remember lens is more important then the camera. And of course you are more important the any piece of the equipment. http://rafalmaleszyk.blogspot.com/
