I have a photography assignment where I have to take 20 shots of landscape photography, and I'm wondering what kind of subjects are included in this? So basically, what is landscape photography?

Landscapes - which can be absolutely anywhere. Gardens, ocean, sky, mountains, etc. etc.

Basically, it's just nature. It shows the form and shape and beauty (or disasters) or the land and the sky. So examples might be sunsets, beaches, mountains, a forest, a park...etc.

It's basically just any scenes of nature, usually widespread--such as a field or forest, etc. It can include your take on it with different angles and colors and effects.

Trees, barns, lakes, fields, mountains, beaches.....

Landscape is photos taken of gardens, rock gardens, etc...Some homes have beautiful front landscape with water coming from a center piece etc.... This is called landscape photography. If you see a nice pool in a yard, their is usually a decor that surround its like a glass greenhouse, patios, stone, garden sets etc... As a graphic artist / designer myself, i would also go on a farm and get a shot of a horse in a stable or in the yard . Use your imagination. Anything that has to do with nature, is landscaping. Go on a gold course and take a nice view shot of the horizon.

"Landscape" means "land (scenery) as seen in a broad view," so that should define it for you. I don't think it is used quite this strictly in photography, but it is generally used to refer to wide views of scenery.
