The fine 20 x optical zoom covers 28 mm to 560 mm While if by nature, you mean wildlife, it is a good camera for shooting from far away, far enough to be outside the scare radius of most wild animals that you are down wind from. However for landscapes, the lens is just so, so. 28 mm is not the choice of most landscape photographers, some thing closer to 20 mm or maybe 24 mm are tops on the list. Since no P&S cameras have super wide angle lenses, you may have to break down and buy an entry level dSLR and a wide angle zoom lens like the Canon 10-22 mm or Nikon 10-24 mm depending upon which camera system you choose
