I'm wondering this in regards to permits for locations.
All Answers To QuestionsAnswer 1
A portrait studio will be classed as a business. Any photography where a fee is payed is 'commercial' photography.
Chris Answer 2
It definitely is if you plan to charge for sittings and/or production of portraits.
I suggest that if you are serious, contact a lawyer, form a corporation (many advantages), obtain Federal I.D. number
and whatever local license/permit may be needed.
I wish you well. Answer 3
Technically, no... It's considered portrait/glamour photography. Commercial is more for businesses taking real estate, product, etc. photos for commercial/marketing purposes... You're jus' doin' personal photography now.
If you're worried about what to define a location used for photography as, I'd say it'd hafta be classified as commercial, unless you shoot at home. << GO BACK to questions
