How much do I need to pay a model for indoor/outdoor photography?

I have lots of pics of nature, and want to experiment with portraiture. I am currently based in Manila. What is the average cost for hiring a freelance model? (not a top shot model)

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

$10 per hour or $100 per day is fair and average for the us

Answer 2

Why hire a model? Grab friends or family members and shoot them. That's usually free, or at worst you'd have to buy them a pizza or something.

Answer 3

Don't hire anyone- I agree with the previous answer. Get friends and family, or if you don't have any grab a random person off the street and ask to take their picture- make your intentions clear. In my school the photographers (students) do senior pictures for each other and charge the 'model'

Answer 4

Depends on content. Models in major areas of the US charge $50-$125 per hour as freelance models. My girlfriend books regularly at $100/hour.

Answer 5

You can find really good models who will do TFP jobs (Trade For Prints) at: http://www.modelmayhem.com/
