Would like to help Models to build their portfolio's. I have advanced Photography and Digital Art skills. Where can I find Models and what can I expect to get paid? Any ideas would really be helpful in this new venture.

You probably won't be paid anything before you have an own remarkable portfolio.
There are various photography/modeling sites out there where people put up their sedcards and interests...there you may find someone to have a shooting with, often the "payment" is time for prints. Answer 2
Jens answer is very good. I'd just like to add that sometimes it's not time for prints but time for CD (of the shots taken). Answer 3
There is a very limited market for models wanting to pay for portfolios. The typical aspiring model is a young lady either right out of high school, working an entry level job not paying a lot, or right out of high school and in college and trying to make ends meet. No discretionary income on their part.
If you think you have good skills and a portfolio, you can at least set up some practice shoots at places like http://www.modelmayhem.com or http://www.onemodelplace.com
These are networking sites, not much money to be made by either models or photographers. It is mostly TFCD Answer 4
I am a photographer currently studying photography at college, working part time and trying to earn a bit of extra money from photoraphy wherever I can. I look for models for cosplay shoots I have in mind and what I do is I offer free photoraphy (in digital format only) to people willing to model my ideas. I've also done free commercial work for businesses in return for them advertising me as a photorapher on their website and in their shops.
The best thing you can do if you want to earn a bit of money from photography is family portraits, etc. So get yourself an online portfolio with the best of your work on (deviantart now offer a free professional one, here's mine: http://ouiouiphotography.daportfolio.com/) and get some business cards (you can get them free from www.vistaprint.co.uk) and just do as much free photography as you can -I've also done two weddings for free- and get your name out there.
The way I do it is if I approach someone and ask them to model then it's free of charge (unless they want to order prints from me) I will give them a few decent sized digital images but I will keep the original format and offer them to buy the full sizes in prints or on disk. If someone approaches me and asks for my services I usually charge.
Hope this helps. << GO BACK to questions
