Hoping to go into glamour photography which camera?

I looked at a Canons & Nikons, and I really do not know which camera to chose. Does anyone have any ideas on cameras that would be best for glamour photography? I have been using a small 8.5 megapixel fujifilm camera, as well as an old slr camera (I don't know what kind my dad gave it too me)

Canon! No other questions they have the best lenses. Answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081108154858AANXJdO

Answer 2

Over 70% of my work is Fashion and glamour. I use a D300 and D3 with a 24-70 mm f/2.8 and 70-200 mm f/2.8 when I am shooting transparencies, I use either my F4, F5 or a Mamiya 645 with film.

Either the Canon, or the Nikon will do. The brand name is not as important as other factors. You will want a model with interchangeable lenses, even if you only have one lens at first this will give you the ability to expand later. 8 mega pixel and above is acceptable for most commercial work, but keep in mind the glass is of major importance. Even a 3 Mega pixel camera can take a good picture if it has a decent lens. At minimum you need control of aperture and shutter speed. A bounce flash is a helpful accessory, though other light sources are preferred. Image stabilization is a good feature for low light. Auto focus helps when you are shooting fast, but you should also be able to turn it off and manual focus. You will want to learn to use your equipment well, but you also need to keep in mind that a major portion of glamour photography is not about the camera. It is about working with the person in front of the camera. You will also need to learn to plan shots for them and to direct them. Even the most experienced model is going to walk on to the set and ask "what would you like me to do?"
