Can I get a freelance news photography job?
I have no qualifications in photography or professional experience but plenty of personal at home experience in how to use cameras. Can I just start by taking pictures of news events, famous people, and sending the pictures to magazines and news papers as a private individual ? Would this potentially lead me to a possible job with news papers or magazines?

Yes, you can take photos and send them in. No, they won't give you a job as you are submitting photos anyway and why pay you a regular wage when you are going to submit any photos anyway. Answer 2
With no experience or qualifications your odds of getting any work or getting paid for your snapshots is slim to none with odds being of high of slim on permanent vacation. There are skilled and talented photographers with a clue who can't even get paid for their work so why would news organizations pay someone with no experience or qualifications? You need to become more realistic about your expectations and goals because right now, you're coming off like the usual wannabe who picks up a camera and thinks they can earn a profit overnight. Do you reckon I could get work as a brain surgeon?
I have no qualifications or experience in an operating theatre but I have played "operation" and read a couple of books and I have my own scalpel. << GO BACK to questions
