I want to do fashion photography when I get older. I want to go to Durham tech. "Commercial, wedding, portrait photography, and photojournalism are a few of the specializations you can choose." I was wondering if commercial would fall under fashion photography?

No, it wouldn't. Commercial Photography is basically all the pictures you see of products, food, clothing, etc., on websites and in magazines or the Sunday paper ads. Also, it's very expensive to get into that field; the camera parts can cost upward of $60,000. Answer 2
Fashion photography is typically it's own category. However, you may find it under commercial photography. My recommendation is to do both commercial and portrait. Both give you the skills required to get into the fashion industry. I spent several years shooting fashion in both LA and in Milan.
And the equipment will not cost $60k. You can use a nice SLR or DSLR for around a few grand and get some good glass (lenses) for around the same price.
