All Answers To Questions

Answer 2

From my experience I highly suggest the 50D for jewelry photography. Here is where I got mine: http://bit.ly/JX9s9

Answer 3

you don't need the eos 50d for close up shot, 50d is more idea for fast movement, 50d cost nearly twice more than 500d. You just need a good lens for it. I suggest a 50mm 1.8d or 1.4 for it. It will gave you very nice photo picture.

Answer 4

Any will work. You have to worry about lighting, not the body. If you have a good macro lens, then, great. A better body may take more resolution pictures, etc. But if lighting is crap, a more expensive body won't change it. Instead of spending that extra buck for the 50D, spend it in lighting equipment.

Answer 5

Neither or both. The camera does not matter. What will matter is the lens that you use. You will need a good macro lens and some lighting to get good jewelry shots. I would get the cheaper camera and either the EFs 60mm F2.8 macro or the EF 100mm F2.8. A light tent and some lights would be a good idea as well.
